Silence

Silence

The lights burn so quietly
a solace in sorrow and joy
the clouds move quickly and silently
while the wind tugs at our clothes

I often seek the silence
a blanket covers my body
a cup of tea is enjoyed in silence
the rocking chair cradles my body

The words in the book are read quietly
I close my eyes to rest
the book quietly sparks my imagination
and my heart knows my inner belief

The smoke from the chimney floats quietly
while the fire in the stove shoots sparks
the weather gods are still silent
where the dark sky breaks

The fog covers the forest quietly
the animals are incited to fight
the pond glimpses in the stillness
on the shore, the carass are enjoyed in steam

The child sleeps in silence
moaning and writhing in his dream
the hand in mine, resting in silence
mom hums the anxiety away.
