The way home

The way home

On the wings of a butterfly, my tears fall
The inner chaos bubbles like the volcano's core
Strong, weak, strong again and again
The body's exhaustion feels the pain calling

Spring comes to nature with new life
Let me drink of the strength that rules
I want to take my life back, and let the flowers be at peace
Drink from the nectar of the earth, give my limbs new drive

Life is a gift that gives and takes in eternal connection
Sometimes one falls into the earth's ditches
A beloved hand reaches out to me
My tears run salty into my mouth

The body shakes like leaves in a storm wind
Not seeing, not hearing the whispering voice
The clenched fist in my stomach twists around
The cramps force me to my knees, I want to go in

Around in the darkness I am steered by my doubts
Struggling without seeing the way home
I seek the tree's root as an anchor
Let me sleep here, and wake up again from the caress of the leaves.
